Disse verktøyene representerer et bredt spekter av tilnærminger til hvordan farlige stoffer skal håndteres på en effektiv måte. Ofte handler de om konkrete arbeidsoperasjoner, som påfylling og pumping av væsker, eller sveiseprosesser. Andre kilder gir en omfattende oversikt over enkelte stoffgrupper, som sensibiliserende stoffer, eller de setter søkelyset på typiske risikoer i visse bransjer.
