William COCKBURN
William Cockburn Salazar has worked at EU-OSHA since 1998 where he focused on the areas of research coordination, emerging risks and was responsible for the first European Survey of Enterprises on New and Emerging Risks (ESENER). From 2012 to 2021 he was Head of EU-OSHA’s Prevention and Research Unit, which develops the occupational safety and health (OSH) content for the agency. From 2021 until his formal appointment as Executive Director in 2023, he fulfilled the role of Interim Executive Director.
William holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master of Science degree in ergonomics. Prior to joining EU-OSHA, he worked in academic research investigating company safety culture and in the private sector as an ergonomics consultant and research manager for projects in health and safety at work.
Head of Communication and Promotion Unit
Rory Harrington
Rory Harrington started at EU-OSHA in May 2024 as Head of Communication and Promotion Unit, responsible for raising awareness and campaigning on occupational safety and health (OSH) in close cooperation with EU and national partners.
Before joining EU-OSHA, Rory worked for the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) where he spent 12 years in communications, working on content creation, leading teams and coordinating with national and international partners to inform on risks in the food chain.
Head of Prevention and Research Unit
Vibe Westh
Vibe Westh joined EU-OSHA in April 2024. Vibe is the Head of the Prevention and Research Unit (PRU) which is responsible for the agency’s technical, scientific and economic information on occupational safety and health (OSH).
Before joining EU-OSHA, Vibe worked in the Ministry of Employment in Denmark for a number of years, most recently as Deputy Permanent Secretary. Vibe has also been Deputy Director General of the Danish Working Environment Authority.
Head of Resource and Service Centre
Donianzu Murgiondo
Donianzu Murgiondo joined EU OSHA in September 2023. As Head of the Resources and services unit, she is leading the team that manages the areas of HR, Finance, Procurement, Documentation, Internal Control and Facility management.
Before joining EU OSHA, Donianzu worked in the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) in Vigo for more than 16 years, first as Head of sector Finance and Procurement and later as Deputy Head of the Resources and ICT unit.
