EU-OSHA has become official partner of the European Climate and Health Observatory. This initiative, run by the European Commission, the European Environment Agency and several other organisations, aims to support Europe in the context of the climate change impacts on human health by providing relevant information and tools.

EU-OSHA has started this year a specific foresight study on climate change impacts. Building upon knowledge and insights gained in previous projects, it focuses on anticipating future climate change-related developments and disruptions, as well as occupational safety and health (OSH) risks. 

From 2025 onwards, the OSH overview will also assess the consequences of climate change on workers’ health and safety. Both the foresight study and OSH overview will address the emerging OSH related challenges to climate change mitigation policies and the green transition.  

The Agency’s work also includes a policy brief on the future of agriculture and forestry, and the EU guidance ‘Heat at Work’ for workplaces, offering organisational and technical resources to manage this OSH risk, including heat waves.
