Empowering tomorrow's chemical engineers with OiRA in Greece

In Greece, our national focal point Hellenic Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, in cooperation with the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, is training chemical engineering students.

During a workshop, students learn about the fundamental principles of occupational safety and health (OSH), including workplace hazards, national legislation and the importance of prevention and risk assessments.

The highlight of the event is the presentation of EU-OSHA's Online interactive Risk Assessment (OiRA) tools. Special attention is given to tools tailored for Greece and relevant to the field of chemical engineering, with some of them having been developed by the organisers of the event.

This activity, co-funded by EU-OSHA, is supporting the European Year of Skills organised by the European Commission. The Year aims to raise awareness of the importance of skills for employment, competitiveness and growth.
