Creating a safer cleaning industry thanks to OiRA tools

Cleaning workers face multiple hazards, including exposure to various chemicals from detergents and dirt, as well as physical risks such as musculoskeletal disorders. They are also exposed to biological agents and psychosocial stressors, such as for example, confrontations with difficult clients or the public and shift work.

Conducting risk assessments is key for employers and organisations to ensure the safety of cleaning workers. Discover the 15 Online interactive Risk Assessment (OiRA) tools in various languages, developed by our national OiRA partners and EU level partners, to support micro and small companies within the cleaning sector. A Portuguese tool is currently under development.
