Back to OSH newsBelgium marks a decade of occupational risk assessment with OiRA
EU-OSHA's Belgian focal point, SPF Emploi, Travail et Concertation Sociale – FOD Werkgelegenheid, Arbeid en Sociaal Overleg, is commemorating a decade of successful implementation of Online interactive Risk Assessment (OiRA) tools in the country with a dedicated colloquium.
The anniversary event, scheduled for 10 November, will shed light on the remarkable journey of OiRA in Belgium, notably, its progress and lessons learned, the critical role it plays in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the Belgian workforce, as well as future prospects.
Over the past ten years, OiRA has become a vital tool for businesses, especially micro and small enterprises, to carry out risk assessments and take preventive measures effectively. The first Belgian OiRA tool was introduced in 2013 for the hairdressing sector, which became the basis for the development of the same tool in other European countries.
Since its inception, OiRA has expanded its reach and impact in Belgium, offering tailored solutions for various sectors such as hairdressing, construction, cleaning services, bakery, performing arts and more, as well as addressing the unique challenges brought by COVID-19.
